The giant slalom specialist had two wins and a second place in her special discipline this season.
Now she struck in slalom as well.
Just like last year, Sara Hector finished third in the evening competition in Flachau.
It is the second time in her career that the 32-year-old Olympic gold medalist in giant slalom takes a podium place in slalom in the World Cup.
In giant slalom, she has 20 podium places.
Form is at its peak for Sara Hector, with only a few weeks left until the Alpine World Championship in Saalbach, which takes place from 4 to 16 February.
The giant slalom competition will be held on 13 February, and the slalom competition two days later.
Camille Rast, Switzerland, won and was 16 hundredths ahead of teammate Wendy Holdener.
Sara Hector was 38 hundredths behind Rast.
The third place means that Sara Hector climbs to second place in the overall World Cup, behind only Camille Rast. Hector has been leading the giant slalom cup so far.
Katharina Liensberger, Austria, led by 75 hundredths after the first run – but missed in the second run and finished fourth.
Anna Swenn Larsson had two podium places in slalom so far this season, but had to settle for seventh place, 81 hundredths behind.
Injured Cornelia Öhlund made a giant performance and advanced 12 places in the second run to a final 12th place.
The 19-year-old Åre skier had the fastest time of all in the second run.
Öhlund broke her thumb ten days ago and is competing with a special protection.
