In the courtroom, she urges the 50-year-old appellant to take responsibility for his actions, writes AFP.
The 50-year-old is one of 50 men who in December were convicted of raping Gisèle Pelicot. He has appealed his sentence of nine years in prison, citing that he believed Gisèle Pelicot had consented to sex where she "pretended to sleep".
Gisèle Pelicot's then-husband, who invited the rapists to the couple's home, has claimed that he clearly stated to the 50-year-old that he had drugged his wife and was looking for men who wanted to rape her.
Everyone knew, everyone came with the same intentions. I have always said that she was asleep, said Dominique Pelicot in court on Tuesday, according to The Guardian.
During the trial last year, Dominique Pelicot was convicted of having drugged his wife, raped her, and invited tens of strange men to commit abuse against her for ten years. During the rapes, Gisèle Pelicot was so drugged that it was not discovered until Dominique Pelicot was arrested for photographing women under their skirts - whereupon the police discovered extensive documentation of the abuse against his wife.
Alongside Dominique Pelicot, 49 more men were convicted. Only one has appealed.
