The game developer Ubisoft is cutting 185 jobs, according to a spokesperson for the company to the website Eurogamer.
The office in British Leamington is being closed, and other offices affected by the cuts are Stockholm, Düsseldorf, and Ubisoft Reflection, which is located in Newcastle.
The reason for the cuts is described as "ongoing efforts to reduce costs and ensure the long-term stability of Ubisoft". The company has been struggling lately, including the delay of "Assassin's Creed Shadows" and the Swedish-developed "Star Wars Outlaws" not meeting expectations.
Ubisoft started its Stockholm office in 2017, and the studio has, among other things, contributed to the major investment in an "Avatar" game.
