Microsoft presented a juicy video presentation in connection with the game event Summer game fest in Los Angeles, which has now come to an end. A new handheld Xbox-branded console, which Microsoft is making with Asus, stole some of the spotlight. But a lot of games were, of course, also on the agenda.
The developers of "Call of duty," Treyarch and Raven, showed video sequences from this year's "Black ops 7," which takes place in 2035 with all that implies of drones and psychological warfare. The game's story will be able to be played alone or in a group when it is released, and the developers seem to be spinning further on the nightmarish dream sequences from the predecessor.
Small becomes big
Jumbo scorpions and butterflies are on the menu when "I love you, I shrunk the kids"-playing "Grounded" gets a sequel this summer. New is the ability to ride on ants, just like in the 1980s classic. Obsidian has this time had assistance from Eidos-Montréal, and "Grounded 2" is released on July 29.
Those who want their pets cute can instead turn their attention to "Aniimo," an adventure inspired by "Pokémon" with the twist that the player can transform into the creatures that are caught.
The real "Pokémon" creators, Japanese Game Freak, are, however, entering a completely different genre when they created the fantasy action adventure "Beast of reincarnation," which follows Emma and her dog Koo in a post-apocalyptic Japan.
Double Fine Productions, which is behind the popular "Psychonauts," is back with yet another odd adventure. In "Keeper," the player takes control of a small lighthouse, whose beacon can affect its surroundings. It is out on October 17.
Rat series gets a predecessor
"Resonance" is the next part in the "A plague tale" series, and takes place before the previous titles. The predecessors have made themselves known for containing rivers of rats, but not a single malevolent rodent was seen in the trailer. The game will switch between the Middle Ages (around 15 years before the predecessors) and ancient times.
