All three are also charged with participating in a terrorist organization, a serious crime, along with a fourth man in his 60s, who was arrested more than a month after the Tyresö raid. All are alleged to have acted on behalf of IS in Somalia.
The individuals are said to have had different roles, but all have a connection to an Islamic cultural association in Tyresö where the Security Police struck on March 7.
The assessment we made at the time of the intervention was that we needed to act to interrupt the planned criminal activity and prevent a possible attack, says Fredrik Hultgren-Friberg, press spokesperson for the Security Police.
Wiretapped premises
The premises had been wiretapped for a long time. According to prosecutor Hedvall, they have carefully investigated whether the association was in practice a mosque, since there would have been a wiretapping ban in such a case, but have come to the conclusion that this was not the case.
The two brothers who are charged are 23 and 25 years old and are said to have converted to Islam several years ago. The radicalization is believed to have occurred gradually but with increasing intensity last year, says Lars Hedvall, who cannot point out a specific triggering factor.
But the material has quite a few references to Koran burnings and then Gaza. There is a lot of outrage over this.
The 25-year-old, who appears to be the most driving force, is said to have received instructions from IS to kill as many "infidels" as possible, with a focus on Jewish targets. The man is said to have had contacts with people who could help with bomb-making, and looked for minors who could carry out attacks.
According to the indictment, the three have also been involved with a pistol that was to be used to commit or promote crimes. They have also had a stun gun.
Instructions from IS
The evidence consists, among other things, of information from phone seizures, including chats with instructions from IS, according to Lars Hedvall.
There is also material from an international investigation, as the accused have had contacts with people in Europe who are now detained in other countries.
In addition, there is the wiretapping material from the premises. There, the brothers have been heard talking about looking for children who are "ready to die as martyrs", that they should "kill many" and that they "must see blood", and that it is not a problem if children are killed.
All four deny the crimes.
