Politicians usually do well on “The Traitors.” Thomas Bodström (S) was among the winners in the second season, Sara Skyttedal (ex-KD) came close to winning the following year, and this spring, former party leader Mona Sahlin (S) made it all the way to the final.
So ahead of the premiere of this fall's season, all eyes are on former minister and Liberal Party leader Johan Pehrson, who did not hesitate to appear on the show when TV4 asked him.
"I think board games are a lot of fun, and this is a murder mystery. But of course there are cameras involved too, and I'm not shy about that," he says, smiling.
Subgroup
Johan Pehrson had his tactics ready when he entered the competition.
"I know that a lot of people in groups want to belong to a subgroup. That's how we humans are wired from the beginning, and it lives on in a board game like this. So I thought I would use people's need to belong to groups," he explains.
"The Traitors" premieres on Thursday on TV4. Johan Pehrson, along with presenters Jessica Almenäs and Lasse Kronér, sports commentator Niklas Holmgren, influencers Klara Elvgren and Tim Rangström, and artist Silvana Imam, are among the biggest names in this year's edition of "The Traitors."
"I was just there to have fun and do something I haven't done before," says rap star Silvana Imam.
“Upside-down world”
She thought she knew what awaited her in the game, where a number of “traitors” would outmaneuver the “faithful” without being exposed. But that wasn’t true at all.
"It was nothing like I had imagined. It was like being in an upside-down world," she says, laughing.
"It was a completely crazy experience in every way," she continues.
