She writes that the Swedish citizens on the convoy chose to disregard the government's appeals to follow the Foreign Ministry's travel advisory, but that they, despite the "clear personal responsibility", received consular support from the embassy in Tel Aviv.
"Sweden has had repeated contacts with Israel to emphasize the importance of the Swedish citizens being treated well and we note that the flotilla was not met with violence at sea", says Malmer Stenergard.
"But when one also chose not to sign the deportation documents or to cooperate with Israeli authorities, one thereby prolonged the deportation process in Israel", the Foreign Minister writes further.
The Foreign Minister is also critical of campaigns where people have been encouraged to send emails and call the Foreign Ministry.
"The Foreign Ministry has so far received over 70,000 emails regarding this matter. There are Swedes around the world who need different types of consular support from the Foreign Ministry, but who have not themselves put themselves in danger, unlike these individuals", says Malmer Stenergard in a statement.
