It was never anything to talk about. Florida won the third Stanley Cup final with 6–1 and leads the series against Edmonton with 2–1.

After just 56 seconds, Brad Marchand – who decided the second final in overtime – scored the leading goal for Florida, and before the first period was over, Carter Verhaeghe increased it to 2–0 for the home team.

Early in the second period, Corey Perry did indeed reduce for Edmonton – a goal where Mattias Ekholm was noted for an assist. But Florida responded quickly with new goals by Sam Reinhart and Sam Bennett. Bennett thus increased his lead in the playoff scoring list, where he now has 14 goals.

It was a convincing performance from the reigning champion team, after the first two finals both went to overtime.

It was really nice, we came to our game directly in this match and did it very well, says Florida's blue and yellow back Gustav Forsling to Aftonbladet.

Edmonton actually won the shot statistics (33–31), but Florida's goalkeeper Sergej Bobrovskij played a great game and saved almost everything. The visiting team played tough and was in numerical disadvantage 11 times – Florida scored three of their goals then. Among other things, Evan Rodrigues 6–1 goal when Forsling got an assist.

During the match, both teams received a total of 35 penalties, corresponding to 140 minutes. It got most chaotic at the end when Edmonton realized that the match was lost.

Yes, it got a bit messy at the end, but that's what happens when the matches are decided, says Forsling to Aftonbladet.

Florida leads the final series – which is played in best of seven – with 2–1 in matches.

The next match is also played in Florida. It will be decided on the night before Friday, Swedish time.
