A majority government comprising the Social Democrats, the Green Party, the Centre Party, the Liberals and the Christian Democrats has been formed in the region, according to a press release.

At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, politicians led by Social Democrat Aida Hadzialic will hold a press conference.

Both the Centre Party and the Social Democrats in the region have strongly criticised the Left Party, which they believe colluded with the Moderates to sabotage a centre-right government. The Left Party, for its part, has criticised the Social Democrats, the Green Party and the Centre Party for negotiating with the right instead of seeking the Left Party’s support.

The Moderates’ group leader in the region, Axel Conradi, calls the agreement a "marriage of convenience that goes against what the people of Stockholm voted for" in a comment.
