The police were alerted to the explosion at 11 p.m. on Thursday evening. Shortly thereafter, the national bomb disposal unit responded to the scene to make an assessment.
"The assessment that has been made is that it is a hand grenade that exploded outside a door, causing a window to be shattered. The door has also been damaged," says police spokesperson Filip Annas.
The incident is classified as serious public destruction. As of Friday morning, no one has been arrested for the explosion.
