Frida Bratt, who is a spare economist at Nordnet, explains that those who follow the stock market have gotten used to Nvidia's profit often being much better than expected, and thus not just a little better than expected as this time.
The figures in the latest quarterly report are not an earthquake, or an incredible show as we have gotten used to in connection with the previous quarterly reports, says Bratt.
The Chinese AI model Deepseek, which requires less advanced data chips than American AI models like Chat GPT, caused Nvidia's stock to plummet at the end of January, only to recover later.
Frida Bratt explains that what happened with the confidence in Nvidia is not seen in the latest quarterly report, but she notes that the company in its so-called guidance writes that it expects higher revenues during the current quarter than previously estimated.
The market has been on high alert for the guidance ahead. The expected revenues are a little higher than expected, which is positive, says Bratt.
The development of Nvidia's stock is "extremely important for the entire stock market mood", explains Bratt.
Nvidia is itself the symbol and locomotive for the entire AI race that has pulled these big tech giants behind it, which in turn has pulled the entire American stock exchange, says Bratt.
