The authority introduced a new telephone system to manage train traffic in March. Since then, 230 incidents have been reported.
In the reports, employees say, among other things, that calls to the police are not connected, that trains need to be stopped but the calls are then disconnected, and that the system restarts itself.
Thomas Andersson, head of department at the Swedish Transport Administration, tells SVT that it is a "very small part" of the calls that have shortcomings, but that they are taking the situation seriously. The Swedish Transport Administration also has backup routines that can be used.
All emergency calls have been answered sooner or later. There were slight delays on some of them. It is safe to travel by train, he says.
