On Tuesday, electricity prices will rise sharply across the country. In the north, electricity hasn't been this expensive in two years.

A near-calm period with little wind power, combined with renewed colder temperatures, is causing electricity prices to skyrocket.

The average price on the Nord Pool electricity exchange for Tuesday is around 1.72-1.76 SEK/kWh across the country, that is, in all four electricity areas.

In the southern half, prices have been higher at times recently, most recently in November. In Norrland, you have to go back to January 2024 to find higher daily prices.

On top of the exchange price, electricity tax, VAT and electricity network fees amount to well over one krona per kWh.
