In total, 19,608 new cars were registered, which is slightly below the monthly average over the past five years (an average of 20,600 registrations), notes the industry organization Mobility Sweden.
Electric cars accounted for 35 percent of registrations and the number increased by approximately 32 percent compared to February last year.
However, it is mainly corporate purchases that are driving demand, according to Mobility Sweden.
"It is positive that electrification is steadily increasing and that companies are continuing to transition. For the private market, measures targeting middle-income earners are needed, and a focus on building charging infrastructure in apartment buildings", says Emmi Antonsson, Head of Communication and Public Affairs at Mobility Sweden, in a press release.
For Tesla, which has reported a significant sales decline across Europe, a decline is also seen on the Swedish market. In February, it fell by 42 percent compared to the same month last year.
