Despite "Battlefield 6" breaking sales records at launch, EA has decided to cut back, IGN writes.
It is not known how many people will be laid off, but there will be layoffs across all companies involved, including Swedish main studio DICE, which has been owned by EA for 20 years.
According to EA, the decision is about a "re-alignment" of "Battlefield." Since its warm reception last fall, the game has faced some criticism, including for AI-generated illustrations and fewer content updates than expected.
In recent months, gaming companies Ubisoft, Avalanche and Thunderful have also cut back in Sweden.
