Sean "Diddy" Combs risks up to 20 years in prison when the court determines his sentence on Friday. The day before, his lawyers submitted a letter where the rap mogul asks for mercy – and where he says he is "deathly afraid".

Combs has been found guilty by a jury of two cases of pimping-related crimes, each of which can result in ten years in prison, after being prosecuted for several serious crimes in a highly publicized trial.

In a last attempt to mitigate his sentence – which is expected to be announced on Friday – Combs has, through his lawyers, sent a letter to the judge. In the more than three-page long letter, he asks Judge Arun Subramanian for "mercy" and "a second chance".

"This has been the toughest two years of my life, and I have no one but myself to blame for my current reality and situation," Combs claims, among other things, in the letter. He also promises to never commit a crime again.

Combs has been convicted of transporting prostitutes across state borders to his so-called "freak-offs", parties with drugs and sexual elements.

The prosecutors have requested imprisonment for at least eleven years and three months.
