Detroit responded with a strong turnaround in tonight's NHL match against Toronto. After a goal from Simon Edvinsson in the last period, the team was finally able to take home the win with 6–3.

The match started strongly from a Swedish perspective, but then for Toronto's part. After less than three played minutes of the first period, Gävle son Calle Järnkrok managed to get in the match's first goal.

When the first period was over, it still looked promising for Toronto, which then led 2–0.

But during the second period, Detroit managed to get in three goals within ten minutes. This was followed up by another three goals during the third period. One of them was scored by Simon Edvinsson.

At the same time, Penguins saw themselves beaten by New York Rangers 6-1 when the teams met in Pittsburgh. The first goal for New York Rangers was set after just over eight minutes by Swedish Mika Zibanejad, who could finally break his duck.

It's always nice to make the season's first goal and avoid thinking about it more, says Zibanejad to Sportbladet.

Penguins equalized at the beginning of the second period, but then saw themselves completely overrun.

A very nice win, it felt very good to get revenge for the loss to Penguins in the premiere, says Zibanejad.
