Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever is being portrayed as the big winner of the EU summit – but at the same time bristles at how he is described.

De Wever spoke for almost an hour at his late press conference following the EU deal on money for Ukraine on Friday night. And he ended with a serious jab at the Brussels-based news site Politico Europe.

"Ah, you're the ones who published a bunch of nice articles with nice headlines and claimed that I'm Russia's most valuable asset. I'll remember that," the Belgian said with a cold look.

Then he shrugged off the idea that the EU should be disunited and divided.

We don't all play the same game, but in the end there is a decision with the support of everyone. So what's the problem? said the Prime Minister, who then got up and left.

"Now I have to go to my dacha in St. Petersburg, where my neighbor is (French actor Gérard) Depardieu and across the road lives (Syrian exiled ex-dictator) Assad. I think I can become mayor there," De Wever said.
