The musical ”The spectator” revolves around a daily newspaper with the same name that was published in the beginning of the 1700s.
According to Bowie's notes, the infamous thief Jack Sheppard and his nemesis Jonathan Wild – both real people in 1700s London – would be at the center of the plot.
The notes, which were found on post-it notes in his locked workspace after his death, also reveal Bowie's fascination with the development of art and satire during the period.
He seems to have asked himself what role the artists played during this period, says Madeleine Haddon, who curates the exhibition, to BBC.
The exhibition will be shown at the David Bowie Center in London on September 13. About 200 objects will be permanently exhibited, but visitors can also apply to see more items from the extensive Bowie archive of 90,000 objects.
