Daniel Ståhl arranged a golden blue and yellow end to the World Championship in athletics. It was not the first time he won a discus gold in the last round. Here are the 33-year-old's championship medals.

World Championship gold, Tokyo, Japan 2025

He ignited the audience before the last throw in the rainy final and made his longest throw of the season, 70.47 meters. A throw that gave gold – and meant that he defended the World Championship title from Budapest.

Daniel Ståhl led before the last round and with the second to last throw, Kristjan Ceh put pressure on the Swede. Then the 30-year-old delivered, reached 71.46 and thus secured his second World Championship gold.

Olympic Games gold, Tokyo, Japan, 2021

In Rio de Janeiro, it stopped already in the qualifying round – in Japan, Ståhl was on a medal hunt. After a calm start, he reached 68.90 with his second throw and thus secured his first Olympic Games gold. In the end, it was double blue and yellow joy, as Simon Pettersson took the silver.

World Championship gold, Doha, Qatar, 2019

67.59 meters was enough to secure his first medal of the highest value. After the gold was clear, he rushed out in wild joy from the discus cage – far out onto the inner field. Then he met the audience's cheers with a Swedish flag over his shoulders.

European Championship silver, Berlin, Germany, 2018

Andrius Gudzius, Lithuania, struck in the last round and took the gold. Ståhl had to settle for the silver – and was just as happy for it.

Near, near, but in the end, it was two centimeters that were the difference between Daniel Ståhl and Gudzius, yes, him again. The margin was not on Sweden's side, which meant that Ståhl left London with a silver.
