Already during the warm-up before the historic semi-final in the Conference League, Djurgården's short side was almost full, and when it then approached, the sound volume increased to almost ear-deafening levels.
And despite it being a loss for Djurgården, the chanting and flag-waving did not stop. Something that cannot always be taken for granted in the Premier League, where Chelsea usually reside.
"Really good"
After the match, Chelsea's coach, Enzo Maresca, was also clear in his praise for the pressure from the Djurgården supporters.
The atmosphere was really good. I told my players before the match that they should be grateful to experience such matches, with such a setting, he says at the press conference afterwards.
The 45-year-old did not want to compare the atmosphere on Thursday with the one they experience weekly at home in the league, but rather sent a nod to the home supporters.
But we also have a good atmosphere in England.
"Never stopped singing"
It was not just the coach who praised the home supporters' performance in the stands. Even the left-back Marc Cucurella, who won the European Championship with Spain last summer, praised the crowd.
It was a fantastic. Their supporters never stopped singing, they sang to the end. It was a wonderful experience and we got a good result. So a good evening for us.
The return match between the teams will be played in about a week, on Thursday, May 8th. Then in London at Stamford Bridge.
