There was a surplus of SEK 4.5 billion in government payments in November. However, this was less than the forecast of SEK 12.1 billion, according to the Swedish National Debt Office.

The difference is largely due to tax revenues being around SEK 5 billion lower than expected. The primary balance – the net of the government's primary expenditure and income – was thus SEK 6.6 billion weaker than forecast, the authority notes.

The central government debt amounted to SEK 1,217 billion at the end of November.
