Busch meets Swedish media ahead of an EU meeting in Brussels and comments on the incident between EU parliamentarian Alice Teodorescu Måwe and a civil servant from the Left Party.
The versions of what happened diverge. But according to the Left Party, Alice Teodorescu Måwe assaulted one of V's civil servants inside the parliament in Brussels on Wednesday.
V has reported Teodorescu Måwe for assault.
However, the Christian Democrats reject the allegations and say that it was Måwe who was attacked by the civil servant, who allegedly photographed and filmed the KD politician. A counter-report has been made.
The incident was captured by surveillance cameras and a parallel investigation by the parliament's security department.
Busch backs colleague
Ebba Busch has not seen the films that are supposed to show the sequence of events, but backs her party colleague.
I arrived in Brussels yesterday and have spoken directly with people who have seen the film material. Spokespersons from the EU parliament are very clear that the film material supports Alice Teodorescu Måwe's account.
She says that hate and threats against politicians are a major issue for her.
This is a completely unacceptable situation, says Busch.
This restricts both freedom of assembly and freedom of expression in the long run. This is the result if one tries to silence a person both physically and verbally.
The Christian Democrats and the Left Party have contact at different levels, she says.
It is obvious that the Left Party has a pervasive leadership problem where they cannot keep politics separate from activism.
Has left Brussels
Teodorescu Måwe has left Brussels despite having a vote on Thursday. Natalie Tegelberg, KD's chief of staff in the EU parliament, tells Aftonbladet that Måwe is feeling very badly.
Alice Teodorescu Måwe is afraid, and no one should have to be afraid in society, but even less at their workplace where one should be guaranteed safety, says Busch.
The Moderate Party's EU parliamentarian Tomas Tobé writes in a post on X that the Left Party must act immediately.
"We have seen open anti-Semitism in the Left Party and yesterday's incident goes in the same direction."
