David Bowie's childhood home could become London's new tourist attraction. A foundation has bought the house where the music icon grew up and plans to turn it into a museum.

David Bowie moved into the house in the London suburb of Bromley at age eight and moved out at 20 in 1967. Visitors will be able to see the bedroom where the pop star's musical dreams were born, according to the Heritage of London Trust, which is behind the plans.

The project has been given the go-ahead by Bowie's family and has received financial support but still needs contributions from sponsors and the public to make it happen. Organisers hope Bowie's childhood home will be open to the public by the end of 2027.

The plans were announced on the tenth anniversary of David Bowie's death. The pop star passed away at the age of 69 on January 10, 2016.
