The Swedish golf star Ludvig Åberg's impressive performance in the Scottish Open continues.
The 25-year-old played the third round in 65 strokes – and retains his lead ahead of the final round.
After the first two rounds, Ludvig Åberg was in sole lead – and on Saturday, he got a perfect start to the third round of the Scottish Open, which is a rehearsal for next week's British Open.
On the first hole, he scored the day's first birdie, and from there, it went steadily with three more birdies. At least until the 11th and 12th holes, where he got two consecutive bogeys.
Despite the blip on the scoreboard, Åberg came back and finished with three more birdies on the last six holes. In total, he played the round in 65 strokes, five under par, and is still in sole lead ahead of the final round – two strokes ahead of home favorite Robert MacIntyre.
The Scottish Open is the only tournament, apart from majors and The Players Championship, where the DP World Tour (European Tour) and PGA Tour compete together outside North America.
It is therefore one of eight tournaments with elevated status on the DP World Tour, and is part of the Rolex Series, which means more prize money and more points for the winner.
