Ligue 1 club Marseilles' chairman Pablo Longoria accused the referees of corruption after Saturday's loss against Auxerre. The outburst did not fall on fertile ground with the league organization LFP. Now the Spaniard is suspended for 15 matches.

The football mogul has apologized for his choice of words and said that it was not suitable behavior, but despite this, the verdict from LFP is harsh.

Longoria will not be allowed to be near the players' or referees' dressing rooms, the football pitch, or the corridors leading to these areas of the arenas for the next 15 matches.

Second-placed Marseille were trailing 0–1 when the referee denied the team a penalty. After an hour of play, Marseille defender Derek Cornelius – previously with Malmö FF – was sent off after the Canadian received his second yellow card in the match. Before the match was over, Auxerre had gone on to a 3–0 win.
