"Do not puncture or disassemble a squishy, and never heat or freeze it. If the toy breaks, the contents can cause injury. Also keep in mind that it can get very hot in the sun or in a hot car," says Frida Ramström, inspector at the Swedish Chemicals Agency, in a press release.
If a squishy with water beads breaks, the beads can leak out. These swell when in contact with liquid. If swallowed, they can cause serious injury.
“It is especially dangerous for small children who often put things in their mouths,” says Marlene Gustavsson, investigator at the Swedish Consumer Agency.
