Stock markets in China are just below zero in Friday morning trading. The Shanghai stock exchange was down 0.2 percent at lunchtime, while Shenzhen was down 0.1 percent. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng was down 0.2 percent.
The good stock market mood that was in Tokyo at the beginning of the week now seems to have worn off. The Nikkei 225 is falling for the second day in a row, and at lunchtime the index was down 0.4 percent. The broader Topix was down 0.3 percent.
The Seoul stock exchange is one of today's exceptions. The Kospi is up 1.1 percent after a week of otherwise positive developments.
