Broad stock market declines have followed the latest round of tariff disputes between China and the US.
The American president Donald Trump criticized China as late as on Tuesday for reduced imports of soybeans, and threatened to block American purchases of edible oil in response.
Despite the disputes, Wednesday's trading in Asia is more sunny than cloudy.
Japanese Nikkei 225 is climbing and was up 1.3 percent by lunchtime. South Korean Kospi is increasing by almost 1.8 percent and Hong Kong-based Hang Seng has risen 1.0 percent.
The Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges in China are fluctuating around zero. The former had fallen back 0.1 percent by lunchtime, while Shenzhen had fallen back 0.3 percent.
