He has discussed the situation with party leaders and party spokespeople over the phone.
"I will now reflect on the information I have received from the party leaders and continue discussions. I also assume the party leaders will make good use of the time for their further talks. It is not necessary for anyone to have a formal exploratory mandate for the parties to be able to engage in dialogue with each other," Norlén says in the press release.
He will also continue to hold informal talks and will make an announcement on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
On Thursday, Social Democratic Party leader Magdalena Andersson was voted down as prime minister by the Riksdag (the Swedish parliament). The situation still appears deadlocked on the red-green side, with the Centre and Left parties drawing clear red lines against each other.
