"It's rare to see something like this. The government has emptied the treasury in the last four years," Andersson said at a press conference in the Riksdag, describing it as the Moderates having been overrun by their support party, the Sweden Democrats, and now having zero credibility in economic policy.
At the same time, election promises worth 200 billion are being made, Andersson claims.
She is referring to the promises of the four Tidö parties and wonders how they will pay for them.
Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (M) said at the press conference on the economic conditions for the next term of office that the scope for new proposals is approximately 50 billion, spread over four years. She said that was quite small.
According to Magdalena Andersson, some, or a lot, will be eaten up by events and things that cannot be predicted. Then there won't be much left for new proposals.
She doesn't give much credit to Svantesson's words that there is a set table waiting for whoever gets to form a government after the election in just over two weeks.
"Last spring she said the money was gone," says the S leader, who at the press conference paints a bleak picture of Sweden's economy, despite accelerating growth, low national debt and a possible recovery.
It's cleared, eaten.
When asked who voters should believe - the Minister of Finance or her - Andersson quickly answers:
Me. If I get to lead a government, there will be order and peace.
