At last year's inauguration, Parisa Liljestrand was booed after a speech in which she said, among other things, that it is not "the job of politics" to be "the best friend and representative of the various industries in the government."
This year she chose to skip the opening ceremony - as she did the Guldbaggegalan earlier this week.
The Gothenburg Film Festival has previously criticized Liljestrand's decision, but instead made the opening speech a tribute to film.
Actor Eric Ericson, who hosted the opening, began with a song on the theme that, at the end of the day, the film industry is still "the Minister of Culture's best friend."
However, there weren't many more boos for Parisa Liljestrand this time.
Alicia Vikander's speech instead focused on the years of work behind the film and the hard work that goes into each film.
"Films can take years to finance and put together. They involve months of passion and hard work," she says.
"Film requires resources; it requires time, risks and failures."
