The failure in the sprint meant that Jesper Nelin would miss the pursuit start. Now it's time to get him ready for the Olympic relay. "Of course he's very disappointed," said national team coach Johannes Lukas.

Nelin missed two shots in the prone position. When he followed up with three penalty rounds in the standing position, his day was ruined. Afterwards, he did not want to comment to the media.

John Luke:

I'll talk to him in peace and quiet. He'll get time off to see his family and then recharge for the relay.

Finishing 72nd in the sprint, Nelin missed the pursuit start.

With five misses, it would have been strange if he had made it.

Lukas said Nelin had been strong in both skating and shooting during training.

But training and competition are two different things. We're fighting back in the relay.

Lukas said.
