Following an outbreak of bird flu, 60,000 breeding chickens were culled at a facility in Sjöbo municipality in Skåne.

The infection was confirmed on Saturday after the owner noticed a high mortality rate and called a veterinarian, reports Ystads Allehanda.

Breeding eggs that have left the farm have been traced and destroyed. Other poultry farms in the area will receive visits from the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
