Thirty people were killed and at least 500 cattle were taken, Souleymane Amadou Moussa, governor of the Tahoua region where the attacks took place, said.
According to him, the perpetrators have "retreated to a neighboring country where they have their base."
It is not clear who was behind the attacks, which targeted three isolated villages. Tahoua has been hit hard by jihadist attacks and is also a stronghold for armed criminal groups operating in the border areas of Niger and neighboring Nigeria.
Despite extensive military initiatives, the junta that has ruled Niger since a coup in 2023 has had difficulty overcoming the violence that has plagued the West African country since then.
