Region Västerbotten is introducing temporary corporate support of 20 million kronor for subcontractors to Northvolt, the region announces in a press release.
The announcement comes after the recent turmoil at the crisis-stricken battery manufacturer in Skellefteå.
The purpose of the support is, according to the region, to support the green transition in the city.
"The subcontractors need to get a fair chance to restructure in order to continue supporting the industrial and community building that is underway in northern Sweden", says Rickard Carstedt, chairman of the Regional Development Board, in a press release.
The support, which is available for application until February 28 next year, applies to affected subcontractors registered in the region and amounts to a maximum of 500,000 kronor per company.
