Ransäters kyrka is a church whose present building was inaugurated in 1986, after the earlier church burned down in December 1983. Visit Sweden says the earlier church was inaugurated in 1692. It says the replacement was rebuilt in the style of the original before opening in 1986.
The cemetery gives visitors another reason to stop: Tage Erlander is buried there, according to Visit Sweden. A visit can take in the rebuilt church and Erlander’s grave. Together, they connect the site with the earlier church and its later rebuilding.
The dates give a concise account of the church’s history: an inauguration in 1692, a fire in 1983 and a reopening in 1986. The 1986 date appears in both accounts: Visit Sweden says the rebuilt church was inaugurated that year, while Wikidata gives 1986 as its founding or opening date. Wikidata also lists the church as heritage-listed. The church and the grave are the two features visitors can see at the site.
