The trio features Lena Jonsson on violin, Kristofer Sundström on bass and Erik Ronström on guitar. Its music moves between folk traditions, pairing expressive storytelling with a strong rhythmic swing. The group’s 2025 album, Folk Covers, pays tribute to contemporary folk composers from Québec, the United States, Scotland and the Nordic countries by reinterpreting their work. The trio tours regularly in Scandinavia, Europe, the United States and Canada. In 2023, it won both a Grammis and the Manifest Prize for Stories from the Outside. Lira named that album Album of the Year, while Folkmusiken i P2 named a song from it Song of the Year. The concert offers a chance to hear the trio’s approach to Swedish folk music and its connections to contemporary music from beyond Sweden.
