Vetekatten Kungsgatan is a café and konditori at Kungsgatan 55 in central Stockholm. Visit Stockholm says the first branch opened there in 1928 and has been open almost every day since. The company has six branches around the city.

The café serves pastries, buns and freshly brewed coffee. You can order filter coffee, espresso, cappuccino or a latte, or choose tea such as Rooibos, chai, Earl Grey and the café’s own blends. Food is served at the Kungsgatan branch for more or less the whole day. The menu includes grilled sandwiches, soup of the day, pie, baked potatoes and substantial salads. A house classic is a shrimp sandwich with mayonnaise and hand-peeled shrimp on tekaka, a soft Swedish flatbread.

On weekdays from 11am to 2pm, coffee and freshly baked bread are included. The café describes itself as a place to meet from morning to evening. The material available gives no prices or visit duration, so plan according to your own schedule and check the café’s current menu for costs.
