Ulriksdal Palace stands on the banks of Edsviken Lake in Stockholm’s National City Park. Built in the 1600s for Constable of the Realm Jacob De La Gardie, it was designed by architect Hans Jacob Kristler and first called Jacobsdal. The palace took its current name in Queen Hedvig Eleonora’s time.
A guided tour takes visitors through interiors spanning the 1600s to the 1900s. Several rooms were created for Karl XV by Fredrik W. Sholander. Visit Stockholm says guided tours are included in the entrance fee, but gives no amount. In the grounds, the Orangery has an exhibition of Swedish sculpture from the Swedish National Museum’s collection. Hedvig Eleonora built the Orangery, while Queen Kristina made a pleasure garden in front of the palace and had her coronation procession proceed from Ulriksdal.
The grounds also have a café and a park. The palace and Orangery are open to the public during the summer months. The material describes no visit length, so allow time for the tour and, if open, the Orangery and grounds according to your plans.
