Skyview is an attraction in Avicii Arena, which takes visitors in one of two gondolas up the building’s outside. The arena was formerly called the Ericsson Globe. The gondola ride reaches its apex, 130 metres above sea level, with a view across Stockholm. Visit Stockholm says the view encompasses the city.
The gondolas depart every 10 minutes, and the full visit takes about 30 minutes. They travel along the arena’s curved outer wall. Avicii Arena opened in 1989 and is the world’s largest spherical building, according to Visit Stockholm. It is Sweden’s national hockey arena and also hosts concerts and other events. The view from Skyview looks over southern Stockholm.
The arena has a volume of 605,000 cubic metres. Visit Stockholm says its main stage has hosted The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Beyoncé, Madonna and U2. Skyview’s address is Globentorget 2, 121 77 Stockholm.
