Java Whiskers is a cat café in Vasastan, Stockholm, serving coffee and fika alongside cats that are waiting for permanent homes. The café says it is Sweden’s first cat café with an adoption operation. It describes the café as a temporary home for homeless cats as well as a place for visitors to spend time with them. Guests can pet and cuddle the cats, provided they follow the café’s rules, according to Visit Stockholm.

Book a time through the café’s website. Java Whiskers asks visitors to arrive 15 minutes early and order fika before relaxing with the cats. The café says every cat there is homeless and looking for a permanent home, so a visit can also be a chance to meet a cat you may want to adopt.
