Ice hockey is one of the team sports most closely associated with Sweden, and Stockholm's September-to-March season is under way. The city's prominent clubs are Djurgården and AIK. SHL is Sweden's top-tier league, which Visit Stockholm says is consistently ranked among the world's greatest. Visitors can watch a club match or look for an international fixture or tournament.

Tickets can be bought at the arena on match day, through club websites or, depending on the team and arena, via Ticketmaster, Stockholm Live and Friends Arena. International games and tournaments are almost always played at Avicii Arena. Visit Stockholm directs visitors looking for team and season information to SDHL.se.

This week, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association reported that Stockholm won the boys' TV-pucken 2026, beating Skåne 3–2 in overtime in the final. That is a result, not a listing of upcoming games. Visit Stockholm says Sweden's men's and women's national teams have multiple World Cup and Olympic medals.

Good to know
