The House of the Muses is now on at Liljevalchs+, where Ylva Snöfrid brings painting, performance and participation together. The exhibition is open through 10 January 2027.
Across 13 halls, visitors encounter the nine muses and four elements, alongside 400 paintings, thousands of drawings and prints, and specially made furniture and objects. The exhibition includes 34 rituals in which paintings and installations are put to use; visitors are invited to take part.
The final hall is devoted to dreams, with visitors able to walk on paintings and join dance rituals. Actors from Dramaten perform scenes at several points during the exhibition, while music and dance activate the work on selected occasions. The show is Snöfrid’s largest presentation to date.

About Liljevalchs+Sara-Vide Ericson, DRIFT

Sara-Vide Ericson is one of her generation’s most acclaimed Swedish painters. Her new exhibition DRIFT draws on her work during a six-week polar expedition aboard the icebreaker Oden. Around 80 new works are presented in the exhibition, many of them large-scale, combining materials like aluminium alloy, oil, pastel, sediment, gold and liquid graphite.
