#Stockholmsjul brings Christmas lighting to streets and squares across Stockholm City. The display presents Swedish Christmas traditions in a modern style, with motifs including moose, cones, deer, spruces, reindeer, angels and a giant mistletoe. Visit Stockholm says the installation uses one million LED lights; the event’s own page says this year’s decorations will cover more than 50 streets and places.
A map of Christmas light walks is available to download from the event website. Organisers say the opening in Kungsträdgården will include music and a singalong. The display spreads beyond the launch venue, giving visitors a way to encounter the lights while walking around Stockholm. Its mix of familiar Christmas motifs and large-scale lighting brings Swedish seasonal traditions into the city’s streets and squares.

Christmas is everywhere, but Stockholmsjul is only here! Join us for the Stockholmsju Opening Ceremony on Saturday, 14 November, in Kungsträdgården. Enjoy music and a festive sing-along from 4:00 PM, followed by the official Christmas lights switch on at 4:30. Since 2011, Stockholmsjul has transformed central Stockholm into a winter Winter wonderland, with festive light illuminating over 50 streets and public spaces until the end of January.

Stockholm Santa Run 2026

For 12 years, the association Together we make a change has organized the charity race Stockholm Santa Run. The race, which is organized entirely on a non-profit basis, involves all participants dressing up in Santa costumes and running/walking/jogging a 3-6 km distance in Stockholm's inner city.
