Folk Music and Dance brings newcomers, beginners and experienced visitors together for folk music and dance at the Folk Music House, known as “Scheppis”. Sunday evenings are open house, with activities that can include jam sessions, concerts, workshops and social dancing to live acoustic music. Food and non-alcoholic drinks are also available.
The house is run by a non-profit folk music association, which describes its activities as being for everyone. It holds events at Skeppsholmens Folkhögskola on Skeppsholmen, in central Stockholm. Some Fridays also have events, including concerts and dance evenings. The programme can feature courses, open-stage sessions, singing gatherings and themed or holiday events alongside the regular Sunday activities.
