Bokslukaren is a children’s bookshop at Mariatorget 2. Visit Stockholm describes its books as covering all ages and several languages, for children and their parents, and says the shop also sells gifts and toys. A small café at the back serves coffee, miniature cakes, cookies and scones.

The shop’s August Prize 2026 competition invites visitors to browse the six nominated books in the children’s and young adult category and guess the winner. After the gala on November 23, the shop will draw a winner from the correct entries. The prize is the winning book and a café break with a drink and baked item.

The ownership handover is set for November 2. The new group comprises Lilla Piratförlaget, Alfabeta Bokförlag, En Bok för Alla and Annika Lindgren, identified by the current owners as Astrid Lindgren’s grandchild. The outgoing owners say they will help the new owners with daily work during November and December, and remain at the bookshop until the end of the year. They describe the shop as a meeting place for Stockholm residents interested in children’s literature during their 19 years running it.

A celebration of the handover is planned for December 5; the shop says more information will follow.
