Stig Lindberg’s designs are the subject of an exhibition at the Porcelain Museum in Gustavsberg. He began his career at the Gustavsberg porcelain factory and worked there from 1937 to 1981. The exhibition covers work across ceramics, textiles, plastics, graphic design and children’s book illustration. For Gustavsberg, Lindberg designed tableware classics including Berså and Spisa Ribb. His designs also reached many Swedish homes through porcelain sold in Cooperative Union stores. The show offers visitors interested in Swedish design a look at a creator whose work shaped contemporary Sweden and continues to appeal in Sweden and abroad. Lindberg’s range extended beyond household objects: he also designed a television set and illustrated books including Krakel Spektakel and Musikbussen.
