F11 Museum is Sweden’s aerial reconnaissance museum, at Skavsta in Nyköping. It opened in 1991. The former air wing had more than 900 employees at its peak, according to the museum.

The exhibits include a collection of flight cameras. In the Annexet section, visitors can see the cameras in a dedicated room; QR codes on objects link to related sections in the museum’s guide app. The app also has reports on historic aircraft and secret reconnaissance missions, with more than 40 films about F 11 during the Cold War. Its camera guides explain the equipment and how it was used on photo missions.

The museum offers bookable simulator sessions for the JAS 39 Gripen, SF 37 Viggen, SK 60 and Piper/Fireboss. The museum’s website has a link to book. You can also use the guide app for a digital visit from anywhere; it is available through the App Store and Google Play.

Check the museum’s website before making plans, and book a simulator through its booking link if you want to fly one of the aircraft.
