Misterhult Church is a neoclassical church in the centre of Misterhult, beside the site of a medieval church and along the old main road. Its bell-shaped hood, symmetrical windows and smooth facades define its exterior.

The present church was built from 1777 to 1780 under master masons Petter Andersson and Petter Lindstrand, and was consecrated in 1790. A church built in Misterhult in the 16th century preceded it. The earlier building’s sacristy remains at Gamla kyrkogården and is used year-round as a chapel.

Inside, a late-14th-century triumphal crucifix hangs above the sacristy door. A sculpture workshop at Linköping Cathedral made it, and it previously hung in the old church. The parish’s estate families once had private boxes with their own gallery and entrance.

The church has undergone several renovations. Work in 2007-08 included repainting the pews, refurbishing the wedding room and reopening blocked chancel windows. Lillkyrkan stands beside the church; services and masses were held there while the renovation was under way.
